Postcard Marketing
Colleen Francis was an inspiring seminar presenter at the Banff conference. She encouraged us to all stay in contact with our students throughout the summer. One way she suggested was to send out a postcard to each student.
Sending out a postcard/letter is a simple way to remind your families that you are thinking of them and also lets them know of your commitment to them and their children. And better yet your young students will be thrilled to get a card written to them personally, especially in this day of e-mail.
The benefit of this is the children have something they can show their friends and the parents might tell other friends what a great piano teacher you are because you thought of them. Word of mouth is a wonderful way for other people to market you.
I bought postcards, four for a dollar at the dollar store, with a Canadian theme and sent them out.
